Karagounis suspended as Greece look for Euro 2004 inspiration

Germany

Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is available again following his one-match ban and could return at right-back. However, his deputy Lars Bender might keep his place after he impressed against Denmark and calmy scored the winner with 10 minutes left on the clock. Talented midfielder Mario Gotze has admitted that he is frustrated about spending the first three matches on the bench.

Greece

Greece captain and talisman Georgios Karagounis is suspended for the quarter-final clash against Germany. Karagounis collected his second yellow card of the tournament when he was harshly booked for diving in the win over Russia. Sotiris Ninis, Grigoris Makos and Giorgos Fotakis are in contention to replace their banned skipper. Left-back Jose Holebas is also ruled out, but has already lost his starting berth anyway.
