Ronaldo v much-fancied Germany in Saturday night showcase

Germany

The big question surrounding the German side is who will start up front? Mario Gomez has had a sensational season for Bayern Munich, but Miroslav Klose just won't go away and out-scored Gomez during qualifying. Per Mertesacker and Bastian Schweinsteiger are expected to start despite recent worries about their fitness.

Portugal

Portugal's hopes rest solely on Cristiano Ronaldo. The Real Madrid star scored over 70 goals in all competitions last term. They may have a regular starting 11, but Portugal suffered a painful 3-1 defeat to Turkey at the start of the month and have now gone three games without a win. Helder Postiga will get the nod up front.
