Euro 2012 Transfer Targets - Group B

15th June 2012By: Fantasy League

We take a look at the players you should consider for your team

Defender – Philipp Lahm (Germany)

There are few defenders in the world who look as good in attack as they do in defence.

Philipp Lahm, however, is one of them. He's already earned three fantasy football points for his side's clean sheet against Germany and looked likely to add an assist against the Netherlands.

He's expensive at £10.5m in Fantasy Classic, but a defender who can create goals is gold dust in this game.

Midfielder – William Kvist (Denmark)

William Kvist, £7.5m, has impressed in both matches for a Danish team that has been something of a surprise package.

Germany's defence has so far been relatively untroubled thanks to the midfield marshalling of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Sami Khedira.

However, the creativity of Christian Eriksen and incisiveness of Kvist could just cause the Germans' back four a few problems.

Midfielder - Bastian Schweinsteiger (Germany)

If you have the funds, £10.5m for Bastian Schweinsteiger is a steal.

While most pundits pre-tournament expected the Bayern Munich midfielder to happily sit in front of the defence and ensure that goals were kept out, Schweinsteiger has been rampaging forward in equal measure.

He already has two assists and four fantasy football points to his name and you wouldn't bet against him nabbing one of his own.

An early contender for player of the tournament.

Midfielder - Rafael van der Vaart (The Netherlands)

The Netherlands need a win against Portugal, pure and simple.

Not only that, but they'll look to win big. Bert van Marwijk will surely start with van Persie and Huntelaar upfront, with Tottenham's Rafael van der Vaart in behind.

van der Vaart impressed when he came on against Germany and at £11m could prove pivotal to inspiring the Dutch attack.

Forward – Helder Postiga (Portugal)

Helder Postiga is understandably underrated given the talent on either side of him.

However, he's a classic poacher with good movement and a superb eye for goal.

He's valued at £10.5m and, at the moment in any case, looks more likely to score than either Cristiano Ronaldo or Nani.
