We take a look at the players you should consider for your team
Monday 11th June: France v England 17:00 | Ukraine v Sweden 19:45
Goalkeeper – Hugo Lloris (France)
It may be a painful pick but without Wayne Rooney, Roy Hodgson will rely on a disciplined and direct attacking approach to take on the French on Monday.
With France possessing a reasonably strong defence and the safe hands of Hugo Lloris (£8.5m) in goal, a one-dimensional England could easily fail to get on the score sheet.
Defender – Olof Mellberg (Sweden)
There will be the likes of Andriy Shevchenko and Andriy Voronin to worry about, but Olympiakos defender Olof Mellberg has seen it all over his long career.
Sweden will want a clean sheet against the weakest side in the group after some poor defensive displays during qualifying and Mellberg, valued at £9m, will also be looking to get forward to add to his tally of seven international goals.
Midfielder - James Milner (England)
James Milner will provide service for target man Andy Carroll up front, hitting the by-line when possible and floating the ball up for the Liverpool man to enact England’s perceived physical superiority over the French.
Milner has the quality to provide sumptuous final balls and will look to get into scoring positions of his own.
With 19 fantasy football points last season and a very reasonable price tag of £8.5m, he might just be the star of England’s show.
Forward - Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored five goals in Sweden’s qualifying campaign, though it’s his form for Milan last season that opponents should be wary of.
35 goals and 14 assists make him one of the most dangerous forwards in the competition and a decent bet for fantasy football managers considering the vulnerable Ukrainian defence he’ll be lining up against.
Forward - Karim Benzema (France)
England’s central defence partnership of John Terry and Joleon Lescott will be physical, but there are doubts over whether they’ll be able to contain the speed and movement of Karim Benzema.
He scored 20 goals last season for Real Madrid and a further three for France in qualifying so, even at £13.5m, he’s worth the price tag.
