Wolves v Portsmouth

2nd October 2009By: Fantasy League

Wolves will be without midfielder Segundo Castillo as they face bottom of the table Portsmouth at Molineux on Saturday. Castillo picked up a hamstring strain last time out against Sunderland, and his exclusion this weekend will see a first Premier League appearance for Wolves playmaker Michael Kightly. David Jones has had knee surgery, ruling him out for the next two months, while Stephen Ward is also missing with a knee injury. Chris Iwelumo and Richard Stearman are pushing for a place in the squad, after coming through reserve action in the week, while Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will have to make do with a place on the bench, with Kevin Doyle and Andy Keogh preferred up-front.

  • Injured: Castillo, Ward

Portsmouth travel to Wolves after another tumultuous week off the pitch, but have received good news on the playing front after Steve Finnan came through a reserve match with no apparent problems as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Papa Bouba Diop and Hermann Hreidarsson remain sidelined with respective hamstring and ankle injuries.
