Rampaging full-back set to excite Fulham fans
Mexican international Carlos Salcido may be 30 years old, but he is not short of energy and he will be an asset to Fulham at both ends of the field.
The experienced attacking left-back has been brought in by boss Mark Hughes as a direct replacement for Paul Konchesky, who left Craven Cottage for Liverpool.
While Salcido might not be a recognised by every Premier League fan, regular viewers of international football will know he is a cult figure amongst supporters and is known for his marauding runs and a fierce shot.
Salcido played all four games at World Cup as Mexico progressed through a potentially tricky looking group along with Uruguay, knocking out hosts South Africa and 2006 finalists France.
Overall he has 77 caps for his country and has scored six international goals.
He featured in the warm-up friendly against England at Wembley where he smashed a fierce shot against the crossbar.
Salcido arrived from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, where he played over 100 games and scored three goals, for a fee of £1.6m.
He put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract on deadline day and is expected to make his debut at home to Wolves this weekend.
Prior to his time in the Netherlands he played 105 games for Club Deportivo Guadalajara in his homeland.
The likes of Gareth Bale, Ashley Cole and Glen Johnson are very popular players amongst Fantasy League managers and Salcido is a player of that ilk.
He loves to get up and down the flank and will provide assists for the likes of Bobby Zamora and Mouassa Dembele.
Fulham were defensively sound last season under Roy Hodgson, with 15 clean sheets in the league, and if they can get back to that kind of form under Hughes then Salcido should be an excellent source of Fantasy League points.
