Hall of Fame

Who will be the next players to be decorated by Fantasy League?

As you may or may not know, Fantasy League has a Hall of Fame section where the greats of the past are put up on a pedestal and their careers idolised.

So far six stars have been deemed worthy enough to represent the 19 year history of Fantasy League. Those illustrious names are:

Peter Schmeichel;
Tony Adams;
Matt Le Tissier;
Ryan Giggs;
Andy Cole;
and Alan Shearer, the all-time highest Fantasy League points scorer.

Click here to read the profiles of the six legends.

With Fantasy League entering its 20th anniversary season, we feel it's time to add two more names to that list of greats.

Below is a list of names chosen from the archives by our panel of experts for you to vote upon.

These names may not necessarily be the highest scoring players of all time, but those who are deemed Fantasy League greats and have made a difference to many a Fantasy League team down the years.

Therefore, your job is to put forward a case for the ONE player you think deserves a place in history more than any other.

To vote, simply post a comment in the field below stating the name of your player and, if you prefer, give a few words on the impact of your chosen player on one of your teams.

We will try to use a few of the best quotes on our write up of the winning players.

When the voting closes on August 31st the top two players will join the names above and go into the Hall of Fame and you will be able to read their biographies and look in awe upon their full Fantasy League point scoring history to your heart’s content.

    Henry - that he is meantioned in the same breath as Gary Speed is ridiculous. Still the best player ever to have played in the Premiership and for a couple of seasons he was the single factor which determines whether your team succeeds or fails

    Henry. The stats don't lie. I really don't like Arsenal, but even I was gutted when he left the Premiership.

    During his prolific spell at Arsenal, having the Frenchman in your fantasy team would get you halfway to a league winning side. Lethal finisher, and one of the best out-and-out strikers the Premier League has seen. Shearer for the complete front man, but in a football playing side like the Gunners where pace, pacing and movement was the game plan, Henry was the classy spearhead to their technically gifted team.

    Thierry Henry. Fetched the highest price in our auction for about 5 years in a row and never failed to deliver. For two or three seasons he was unstoppable.
