Chelsea to make it four clean sheets in a row, Newcastle back on home turf and could be in for another big win and more hard times ahead for Wigan.
Team to Watch - Newcastle United
Newcastle return to St James' Park this weekend and will be high on confidence following their 6-0 drubbing of Aston Villa in their only other home game so far.
Fellow promoted side Blackpool are the visitors on Saturday and so Newcastle will be confident of increasing their goals tally and picking up another three points.
The Magpies won the corresponding fixture 4-1 last season and in-form striker Andy Carroll netted home and away against the Seasiders when they met in the Championship.
Carroll is currently facing a race against time to be fit and if he makes it Chris Houghton's side should have more than enough to see of the Tangerines.
Blackpool have had mixed emotions on their travels with an opening day 4-0 win over Wigan before coming crashing down to Earth and losing 6-0 at Arsenal the following weekend.
There should be plenty of goals in this game but mostly, unfortunately for Blackpool fans, going into Matt Gilks' net.
Team to Avoid - Wigan Athletic
Wigan head into this weekend's home clash without a goal to show for from two games at the DW Stadium, so a visit of a confident Sunderland side this weekend is not ideal.
Steve Bruce's Black Cats picked up a last-gasp win over mega-rich Manchester City last time out and will look to build on that against a leaky Wigan defence.
Wigan could hand a debut to former Burnley centre-back Steven Caldwell who signed after an impressive trial at the club, but they still lack quality at the back.
Sunderland strikers Darren Bent and Danny Welbeck both scored on international duty in the week and they have record-signing Asamoah Gyan waiting in the wings.
With competition for places now high there is a lot to play for and Wigan will surely struggle to stop them scoring at least once.
Banker Clean Sheet - Chelsea
Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea team return from the international break as the only side who have a 100% win record in the Premier League, and the only side yet to concede a goal.
Three comfortable wins, and three clean sheets, against West Brom, Wigan and Stoke, sees them sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League.
Chances are they will remain that way after this weekend, and another shut out is a distinct possibility when they travel to a West Ham side in a poor run of form.
Avram Grant's side have conceded three goals in each of their opening three games and only registered once themselves.
The former Portsmouth man has his work cut out at Upton Park and he may be under even more pressure after this weekend when one of his former clubs come to visit.
Skipper John Terry faces a late fitness test on his hamstring injury but even if the England man does not make it, Chelsea should be too strong for the Hammers.
Injuries and Suspensions
The ankle injury picked up by Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe whilst on England duty on Tuesday looks to be more serious than first thought.
Defoe, who scored a hat-trick against Bulgaria on Friday night, is set to be sidelined for six to eight weeks according to reports.
Team-mate Michael Dawson is out for two months after suffering a knee injury while on international duty.
Dawson twisted his knee when he fell awkwardly in England's win over Bulgaria and initial fears were that he would spend much longer on the sidelines.
Manchester City's big-money summer signing Mario Balotelli is set to undergo knee surgery meaning he will be sidelined for around six weeks.
Everton's promising young midfielder Jack Rodwell has been ruled out for around three months with the ankle injury sustained against Aston Villa last time out.
Liverpool have confirmed that Dirk Kuyt will be out for around four weeks with his shoulder injury.
The Dutchman damaged ligaments in his shoulder while attempting an overhead kick.
Arsenal are monitoring the injury picked up by Theo Walcott on international duty with early reports suggesting the winger could be out for two weeks.
Team-mate Robin van Persie has been ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury.
Newcastle striker Xisco will miss the next two Premier League games through suspension having been shown a red card while in reserve team action.
Bolton stopper Jussi Jaaskelainen will miss the next three games, against Arsenal, Aston Villa and the Carling Cup tie with Burnley, after his red card against Birmingham.
West Brom midfielder James Morrison will also miss the next three games, against Tottenham, Birmingham and the Carling Cup tie with Manchester City, after his red card against Liverpool.
Finally, Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole serves the final match of a three-game domestic ban against Birmingham this weekend.
