A look back at the action with your Fantasy League team in mind
England produced an impressive display to dispatch Switzerland last night, winning the Euro 2012 qualifier 3-1 in Basel.
Wing wizard Adam Johnson was England's star man and continued to show why he is becoming a must pick for Manchester City, England and your Fantasy League team.
Fabio Capello’s side continued where they left off against Bulgaria on Friday with Steven Gerrard orchestrating from midfield and Wayne Rooney playing in a withdrawn role.
The under-fire striker, operating in a position filled by the likes of Mesut Ozil and Wesley Sneijder during the World Cup, opened the scoring, tapping home from close range.
It was Rooney’s first England goal in 12 games, but Theo Walcott injured his ankle during the build up and the in-form winger will spend two weeks on the sidelines.
However, Walcott’s departure allowed Johnson to enter the fray and it’s hard to see the left-footed wide-man starting as just a substitute again for the Three Lions.
Johnson instantly beat his full-back with a clever first time turn and scored his second international goal soon after, racing onto a Gerrard through ball and jinking past the Swiss keeper to make it 2-0.
Darren Bent rounded off the scoring, putting the game beyond doubt, with a confident finish, and could have scored minutes earlier, but Shaun Wright-Phillips failed to find the Sunderland striker after beating the offside trap.
The introduction of Wright-Phillips meant England finished the game with six Manchester City players on the field, but rival Premier League clubs must be cursing themselves for passing up the chance to sign Johnson from Middlesbrough in January.
England’s U21s secured their place in the play-offs for next summer’s European Championships, but made hard work of beating Lithuania 3-0.
It took the introduction of Jack Wilshere at half-time to kick start Stuart Pearce’s young side after a complacent first half.
Sunderland’s on-loan striker Danny Welbeck scored two of the goals and the Manchester United youngster also got an assist when Marc Albrighton slid home the second.
Away from England, Birmingham striker Nikola Zigic was among the goals again, scoring for the second time in five days as Serbia drew 1-1 with Slovenia.
Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda bagged a lucky goal as France returned to winning ways by beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0.
Strike duo Robbie Keane and Kevin Doyle got a goal each in the Republic of Ireland’s 3-1 win over Andora.
And finally, a Jose Reina howler allowed Carlos Tevez to score as Argentina thrashed re-jigged World Champions Spain 4-1.
