German extends lead in World Drivers Championship
Sebastian Vettel held off a spirited challenge from Lewis Hamilton to secure his fourth victory in five races.
Vettel, who qualified in second behind Mark Webber, leap-frogged his Red Bull team-mate at the start, but was caught napping by Fernando Alonso, who overtook him on the inside of the first corner.
The Spaniard retained the lead until his first pit stop, but was hampered by tyre trouble thereafter and ultimately finished fifth in his Ferrari.
This left Vettel and Hamilton in a two-way tussle at the front, with the McLaren man unable to get past the German despite setting the fastest lap time of the race.
Jenson Button completed the podium positions despite a poor start which saw him drop from fifth to 10th, while pole position man Mark Webber was forced to settle for fourth.
Mercedes duo Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg finished in sixth and seventh respectively, closely followed by Nick Heidfeld, who got himself up to eighth despite starting at the very back of the grid.
The two Sauber cars of Sergio Perez and Kamui Kobayashi completed the top 10 positions.
