Transfer Targets- Quarter Final 1

21st June 2012By: Fantasy League

We take a look at the players you should consider for your team

Defender - Joao Pereira (Portugal)

An unsung hero in the Portuguese camp, Joao Pereira has enjoyed a fine start to Euro 2012.

He’s picked up one assist and is on one fantasy football point, though his marauding right flank runs will look to trouble the Czechs and increase that tally.

While his defence is decent, it’s his attacking threat up against left-back David Limbersky that might pay off this evening.

At £8.5m in Fantasy League Classic, he’s well worth the investment.

Midfielder - Petr Jiracek (Czech Republic)

The technically gifted Petr Jiracek has been one of the standout performers of the tournament so far.

He’s already scored six fantasy football points and has proven how dangerous he can be from an unfamiliar position on the right of midfield.

The Czech Republic will be looking to get Jiracek and fellow winger Vaclav Pilar on the ball as much as possible, so expect the £7.5m man to have several opportunities to pick up some fantasy football points.

Midfielder – Vaclav Pilar (Czech Republic)

Like Jiracek, Pilar will be a vital component in the Czechs’ counter-attacking play.

Valued at just £7m and with six Fantasy League points already, Pilar is a bargain.

Midfielder - Joao Moutinho (Portugal)

Joao Moutinho has been relatively quiet so far but has picked up one assist and two fantasy football points.

Importantly, he has a cool head and an impressive technical skill set that could prove decisive in the knockout stages.

The £9m Porto midfielder can pick defences apart on occasions and will look to make a defining contribution this evening.

Forward – Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

Finally getting into gear, the slow-starting Cristiano Ronaldo now looks set to leave a lasting stamp on the Euros.

He’s expensive at £14m, but a Czech defence that shipped four against the Russians looks deeply vulnerable to his remarkable talents.
