Tottenham, Everton and West Brom begin pre-season with victories while Blackburn are held

Carlo Cudicini was back from injury and Robbie Keane returned from his loan spell at Celtic to help Tottenham kick off their pre-season campaign with a 4-0 win over League 1 side Bournemouth.

Roman Pavlyuchenko scored a brace while there were also goals for youngsters Danny Rose and Jonathan Obika.

Boss Harry Redknapp opted to field a separate team in each half and there were starts for Cudicini and Keane.

The Italian keeper was playing for the first time since suffering pelvic and wrist injuries in a motorbike crash eight months ago.

West Bromwich Albion prepared for life back as a Premier League team with a 3-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers.

Like Tottenham, the Baggies also opted to field a different team in the second half, but they were already 1-0 up by then.

New signing Pablo Ibanez was handed a debut in the centre of the West Brom defence and he watched striker Ishmael Miller open the scoring after just 11 minutes.

In the second half Roman Bednar doubled the lead when he nodded in an excellent cross from Giles Barnes and Abdoulaye Meite scored his first ever goal for the club, after being found by Jerome Thomas, to seal the win.

Everton were also victorious as they began their tour of Australia with a 1-0 win over Sydney FC.

Victor Anichebe scored the only goal of the game just after the break.

Finally, Blackburn were held to a 0-0 draw against Sturm Graz in Austria.
