Terry in the dock, Mancini commits to City and Moses set on Chelsea

The BBC reports that John Terry finally took his seat in the dock of Westminster Magistrates' Court yesterday, where he faces allegations of racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand during a Premier League match last year.

The Chelsea captain played well towards the end of last season and during Euro 2012, though fantasy football managers should be aware that the outcome of this trial could have a significant impact on the remainder of Terry’s career.

Back to the Premier League, and despite being linked over the last couple of days with the Russia job, Roberto Mancini has confirmed that he has signed a new five-year contract at Manchester City.

According to the Guardian, the deal is worth at least £25million and will secure the Italian in his role at the Etihad Stadium until 2017.

In transfer news, Manchester United’s veteran Korean winger Park Ji-Sung has now completed his switch to QPR, reports the Sun.

According to the newspaper, Park is insisting that it was his decision to leave the northwest, not Sir Alex Ferguson’s.

He said: "QPR made me a very good offer and their ambitions and plans were interesting for me."

According to the Daily Star, Victor Moses is still set on moving to Stamford Bridge, despite Wigan chairman Dave Whelan turning down a £4million offer from Chelsea.

Arsenal and Liverpool are also known to be interested in signing the 21-year-old Nigerian, though the Blues are expected to return with an improved offer closer to the £10million Whelan is after.

The Mirror reports that Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is already lining up Guatamalan Marco Pappa to replace Moses, who scored 28 fantasy football points from 37 matches as the Latics survived the drop last season.

Finally, the Daily Mail has reported that Liverpool have had a bid for underused Real Madrid playmaker Esteban Granero refused by the Spanish champions.

The 25-year-old Spaniard is thought to be manager Brendan Rodgers's number one transfer target this summer.
