Rooney crushes Milan

Manchester United cruised to a 4-0 win over AC Milan to go through 7-2 on aggregate while Real Madrid were sent crashing by Lyon

Wayne Rooney added a brace at Old Trafford to the two goals he scored in the first leg as Manchester United thrashed Italian giants AC Milan 4-0.

The England striker picked up six Fantasy League points for his efforts and top-scored on the night, while Darren Fletcher and Ji-Sung Park earned three points each for the other goals.

Gary Neville, Nani, Paul Scholes and second half substitute Rafael got the assists.

Former United player David Beckham received a warm ovation when he came off the bench midway through the second half, but by then Milan were already down and out.

In the night's other last 16 tie, Real Madrid took the lead but were held to a 1-1 draw meaning they went crashing out 2-1 on aggregate to French side Lyon.

Cristiano Ronaldo latched onto a Guti through-ball to fire home after just six minutes but Miralem Pjanic smashed in the tie's winning goal late-on, after a lay-off from Lisandro Lopez.
