Welcome to the first of what could be a regular feature, where we find out about a new name from the weekend's points scorers to see if he's worth selecting for your team.
West Brom stiker Peter Odemwingie got the winner for his new team against Sunderland on Saturday, despite only signing for the club the day before the game.
In fact, he only received international clearance to play on Friday night and can’t have been fully prepared to make his Premier League bow.
However, he grabbed the only goal of the game in the 81st minute, using his electric pace to latch onto a through ball, and will surely be a regular first team player at the Hawthorns.
But who is he and how did he end up getting the winning goal on his Premier League debut?
Born in Uzbekistan, to a Nigerian father and a Russian mother, Odemwingie completed his footballing education at CSKA Moscow before beginning his career at Nigerian outfit Bendel Insurance, where he played alongside former Wigan forward Julius Agahowa.
He was soon playing in Europe and made a name for himself at Lille following a spell at La Louviere Belgium, where he scored nine times.
Odemwinge came to prominence with two goals for Lille against Italian giants AC Milan in the Champions League and finished the 2005/06 season with 14 league goals.
In 2007 he returned to Russia when Lokomotiv Moscow paid $14m dollars for his services and he went on to score 21 goals in 75 appearances for the Railroaders.
Blackburn and Birmingham were both rumoured to be interested in his services before he signed a two-year deal with West Brom, for an undisclosed fee.
His new manager, Roberto Di Matteo, is certainly impressed by his new recruit describing Odemwinge as fast, two footed and able to play on the wing, as well as up front.
The 29-year-old captained Nigeria at the 2010 African Cup of Nations, appeared in two of his county’s matches at the World Cup this summer and has 47 caps, scoring nine times.
West Brom travel to Liverpool this weekend and Odemwinge has been valued at £5.5m on the Classic Player List.
