Competitions and Leagues
Fantasy League Classic offers the widest array of competitions and over £50,000 in prizes up for grabs. There's plenty to play for throughout the season, with weekly and monthly cash prizes in addition to the season-long competitions. So even if your initial signings fail to deliver, there is always the opportunity to turn your team around and compete for the wide array of prizes on offer!
Overall Season competition
This is the big one! Teams score points throughout the season, with the managers of the top 50 teams winning prizes at the end of the year.
The manager at the top of the table at the end of the season wins £10,000 in cash. The manager of the second place team will pocket £1,000 and third place will win £250. The managers finishing 4th-10th win £100, while 11th-20th place win £50 each. The teams in 21st to 50th position get a free entry into Fantasy League Classic 2012/13!
Friends & Enemies Leagues
Friends and Enemies leagues allow you to compete against your friends, colleagues or enemies in your own private league.
For leagues with eight or more teams signed up at the start of the season, the winner of each league, in addition to obtaining those all-important bragging rights, will have their managerial abilities rewarded with a Fantasy League Gold Medal. A Runners-up Fantasy League Silver Medal is also awarded for those leagues that have ten or more teams signed up before the start of the season.
All medals are sent out to the league chairman of the friends league late in the season, for them to distribute to winners as they see fit.
Friends & Enemies Round Robin
Get 10 or more teams in your Friends & Enemies League and you'll qualify for our "Round Robin" competition. From mid-September when the Round Robin fixtures are drawn, your team will go head to head with another team in your league in a scheduled match-ups which are determined by the weekly total of Fantasy League points gained. Just like the real-life Premier League, teams gain three points for a win and one point for a draw, with the team with the most points at the end of the season being declared the winner.
Premier Leagues
Every entrant is randomly placed in a "Premier League" of 20 managers, who from the first week of the season onwards will compete to qualify into one of four Prize Tiers.
The Premier League campaign runs for the entire length of the season, with positions based on cumulative Fantasy League points.
There is a cut-off after 18 weeks of the season, at 23:59 on Monday 12th December 2011, where positions in the Premier League table will decide which Prize Tier competition each team enters.
The top five teams in each Premier League at 23:59 on Monday 12th December 2011 will enter the Champions League prize tier competition.
Teams in 6th - 10th position in each Premier League at 23:59 on Monday 12th December 2011 will enter the Europa League prize tier competition.
Teams in 11th - 15th position in each Premier League at 23:59 on Monday 12th December 2011 will enter the Lower League prize tier competition.
Teams in 16th - 20th position in each Premier League at 23:59 on Monday 12th December 2011 will enter the Sunday League prize tier competition.
Prize Tier Competitions
The position of each team as at 23:59 on Monday 12th December 2011 will determine which Prize Tier Competition they enter for the remainder of the season.
Each Prize Tier competition has the same format and the competitions are named after illustrious - and not so illustrious - competitions from the World of Football: The Champions League, Europa League, Lower League and Sunday League.
Group Stage
Each team in the Prize Tier Competition is randomly placed in a four-team group.
Each team plays each other “home” and “away” on six game weeks (Tuesday to Monday) between game weeks 20 and 27.
For each weekly match-up, the team with the highest weekly score on Monday evening is deemed to have won the fixture, and gains three points in the group league table.
If weekly scores are equal, the fixture is deemed to be a draw, and each team gains one point apiece.
After game week 27, the final league table determines which teams qualify for the Knock Out stages.
The top two teams in each group go through to the knockout stage of their Prize Tier Competion.
The third-placed team in each group, apart from the Sunday League competition, is placed in the knock out stage of the next Prize Tier competiton down (for example, the third-placed teams in each Champions League enter the Europa League knock out stage).
The fourth-placed team in each group, and also the third placed team in each Sunday League competition group, are eliminated from the prize tier competition.
Knock Out Stage
The qualifying teams from each group enter a series of seven weekly knock out fixtures to whittle down the participants in each Prize Tier competition to a select few teams who will compete for top honours in the final week sprint.
During the knock stage, each team is randomly drawn against another team within the same Prize Tier competition. The fixtures are played over eight game weeks from 28th February to 11th May 2011. These date are subject to alteration in the event of changes to the Premier League fixture schedule.
Each knockout tie runs from Tuesday to Monday, with the team amassing the most points during that week being declared the winner and progressing to the next round of the knock outs.
In the event of both teams gaining the same weekly score, the team with the most goals scored during the week will progress. If points and goals are tied, then the team with the most assists will be deemed the winner of the tie. And if points, goals and assists are all equal, the away team (i.e. the team listed last in the fixture) will progress.
Sprint Finals
After the series of knock out fixtures have been completed the remaining teams, of which there will be roughly 16 in each Prize Tier competition, proceed through to the final phase of the competition - the Sprint Final.
The sprint final takes place on the final day of the season on Sunday 13 May 2012.
Teams are ranked in the Final Sprint leaderboard based on the points they gain during the final day of the season.
If any teams are tied on points totals, the team with the most goals scored during the week will be determined the higher-performing team, follwed by the team with most assists if points and goals scored are equal.If teams are still tied on weekly points, goals scored and assists, then the team with the highest overall season score will be designated as the highest-performing team.
Each team's position in the Sprint Final leaderboard determines the final placings in each respective Prize Tier competition, with plaudits and prizes going to the top performing teams in the Premier League, Europa League, Lower League and Sunday League competitions.
Other Competitions
FA Cup competition
The Fantasy League Classic FA Cup competition runs alongside the main competition, with points gained from the FA Cup third round onwards. The team that gets the most points from these FA Cup matches wins £500 cash, with the runner-up pocketing £100.
Manager of the Week
The manager whose team gains the most points in any single Fantasy League game week will win £50 in cash. For teams on the silver package, this prize is increased to £75. For gold package teams, the weekly prize is £100. Weekly prizes are only eligible where there are five or more Premier League fixtures taking place.
Manager of the Month
September through to April sees eight separate Manager of the Month competitions. The top three managers whose teams gain the most points in any single calendar month will be rewarded with a cash prize, dependent on the package to which they have subscribed.
The prizes for each Manager of the Month competition are as follows:

Gold and Silver Championship
This is an additional competition for managers who buy a Gold or Silver team. Teams score points in a straight leaderboard from the game-week commencing Tuesday 15th November onwards, with the winning manager and runner-up taking home cash at the end of the season.
The manager at the top of the Gold and Silver Championship table will win £1,000, doubled up to £2,000 if they are a Gold subscriber. The manager of the second place team in the Gold and Silver Championship will win £500, doubled up to £1,000 if they are a Gold subscriber. The manager of the third placed team in the Gold and Silver Championship will win £250, increased to £500 for Gold subscribers. Please note that in order to qualify for the increased Gold package prizes, upgrades on existing teams must have been carried out by 12:45 on Saturday 19th November 2011. Standard teams that upgrade after 12:45 on Saturday 19th November 2011 are not eligible for this competition.
Double Team Championship
Pair up your teams and play for the Double Team Championship, with a £1000 cash prize for the top-scoring team pairing.
The competition is open to all Classic managers who have more than one team. Pair up your teams and watch yourself climb the leaderboard as the highest-scoring team in each pair every game week has its score added to your cumulative total. The double team competition starts at 15:00 BST on Saturday 13th August and will continue until the end of the season.
