Brace from Real Madrid man eases reigning champions past France

Two goals from midfielder Xabi Alonso gave Spain a 2-0 win, and earned 12 Fantasy League points for himself.

Defender Jodi Alba crossed for Alonso to head in the first which, added to the clean sheet, earned him 10 points.

The second and decisive goal came from the penalty spot late on, after substitute Pedro had been fouled.

Pedro scored four points for his efforts while goalkeeper Iker Casillas, and defenders Alvaro Albeloa, Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos each scored six for their clean sheets.

The win sets up a semi-final meeting with Portugal on Wednesday.
