Manchester City man scores brace to down Germans

Mario Balotelli scored twice, for 12 Fantasy League points, as Italy beat Germany 2-1 to progress to Sunday's final.

Antonio Cassano and Riccardo Montolivo set the goals up, to earn four points each, as Italy raced into a 2-0 half-time lead.

Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil scored a late consolation from the penalty spot, to earn six points.

The opening goal came midway through the first half when Balotelli nodded in from close range, after excellent work from Cassano.

He doubled the lead 15 minutes later with a blistering strike which rounded off a fine counter-attacking move, after being sent clear by Montolivo.

A handball in stoppage time gave Germany the chance to pull one back, but there was not enough time to find a leveller.

The result now sets up a clash with defending champions Spain in the final in a repeat of the opening game in Group B, which ended 1-1 three weeks ago.
