Poland v Greece Match Preview

7th June 2012By: Mark Tinklin

Group A: Friday 8th June 17:00

Hosts and 2004 champions get the Euro 2012 action under way

Poland

Joint hosts Poland have a fully fit squad to choose from when they kick-off Euro 2012 against Greece at the National Stadium in Warsaw. Central defender Damien Perquis will start despite fracturing his elbow while turning out for Sochaux in March. Robert Lewandowski and right-sided duo Jacub Blaszczykowski and Lukasz Piszczek are Poland's key performers.

Greece

There are three selection decisions that Greece manager Fernando Santos must make for the opening day. First off all, which Papadopoulos will start at the back, with Avraam and Kyriakos in contention to start alongside Sokratis Papasthathopolous. Santos must also choose who gets the nod in goal and will be tempted to throw the talented Giannis Fetfatzidis straight in.
