Team GB announced, Rafael signs new deal and Juventus make move for Suarez

The Telegraph has concluded that Andres Iniesta was a deserving winner of the Euro 2012 player of the tournament accolade, while Steven Gerrard was named in Uefa’s team of the tournament after some commanding displays for England.

The Guardian reports that Stuart Pearce announced his Team GB Olympic football squad on Monday, including five Welsh and 13 English players.

The tournament will give fantasy football players the chance to have a look at youngsters such as Southampton’s Jack Cork and West Ham’s James Tomkins, who were plying their trade in the Championship last season.

As reported by the BBC, Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards will fill the three 'experienced player' berths.

Both veteran Welshmen scored 24 fantasy football points each last season, while Richards picked up an impressive 30 from his 23 appearances for Man City.

There is also news from Sky Sports that Manchester United’s Fabio da Silva has joined QPR on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old full-back only made two appearances for last season’s runners-up, so will be hoping for some more first team experience under Mark Hughes.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian’s twin brother Rafael has been rewarded by the Red Devils with a new four-year contract for the improvement he has made since joining in 2008.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: "He has all the attributes to become one of the best full-backs in the world and I am delighted he has signed a new contract."

According to the Daily Mail, Juventus are prepared to make a move for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, who is in the middle of contract negotiations at the Anfield club.

But Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, have stated that they have absolutely no intention of selling the Uruguayan, who was Liverpool’s most dangerous player last season with 45 fantasy football points.
