Welshman was the night's top scorer as Spurs ease to win

Gareth Bale scored twice, earning himself six Fantasy League points, as Tottenham beat Wigan 3-1 to keep on the coat-tails of the two Manchester clubs.

Fellow midfielder Luka Modric scored the other one, and made one of Bale's to earn five FL points.

Full-back Kyle Walker was seconds away from earning a clean sheet for playing 75 minutes without conceding, but was withdrawn in the 74th minute and so only scored 1 FL point on the night.

Elsewhere, Manchester United beat Stoke 2-0 and were helped out by a former midfielder who scored the winner for Everton to beat Manchester City 1-0.

Liverpool eased to a 3-0 win over struggling Wolves, with Charlie Adam scoring four FL points for two assists, and Chelsea left it late to earn a 1-1 draw at Swansea.

Everton 1 Man City 0

Ex-Manchester United man Darron Gibson scored the only goal of the game, lashing home from the edge of the box, via a slight deflection, after a lay-off from Landon Donovan.

Man Utd 2 Stoke 0

United needed two penalties to beat Stoke, but were never really under any pressure in this one.

Javier Hernandez calmly slotted into the corner to open the scoring before half-time, after Ji-Sung Park had been tripped in the box.

Dimitar Berbatov added the second after the break when a penalty was awarded for a tug on Luis Antonio Valencia.

Swansea 1 Chelsea 1

Former Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair opened the scoring, looping a shot up and over Petr Cech after the ball had hit a defender and dropped kindly for him.

The unfortunate Neil Taylor gave Chelsea a point in stoppage time when he inadvertently turned Jose Bosingwa's effort pas his own goalkeeper.

Tottenham 3 Wigan 1

Gareth Bale fired Tottenham in front on the half-hour mark, latching onto a wonderful Luka Modric pass he controlled the ball on his chest and acrobatically found the back of the net.

Modric doubled the lead five minutes later with an opportunist's strike, finding the bottom corner of the net after the ball bounced off two Wigan defenders and fell kindly for him.

Bale increased the lead after the break, receiving the ball from Benoit Assou-Ekotto he worked a yard of space and drove a low shot across the keeper and into the net.

Wigan pulled a goal back late-on when Victor Moses found James McArthur and his shot deflected off a defender up over Brad Friedel and in.

Wolves 0 Liverpool 3

Andy Carroll opened the scoring, a year to the day since he joined the club, beating his marker to the ball to enable him to slot in Charlie Adam's cross.

Craig Bellamy scored a fine individual goal to increase the lead, running from the halfway line and scoring with a low shot after picking up the ball from Jay Spearing.

Dirk Kuyt completed the scoring, with his 50th Premier League goal, slotting home from a tight angle after being found by Adam.

on yahoo sports it said 74 minutes.... it reminded me of the final game of last season. I had Phil Bardsley in my team and he got injured and just lost out on 3 points for a clean sheet..... that robbed me of a bronze medal.... very annoying but that's life

why did Kyle Walker only get 1 point last night when on spurs official website it says that he was subbed for sandro after 76mins :-(

Walker went off in the 75th minute, so only played 74 minutes and 33 seconds. Therefore did not qualify for the three points for a clean sheet. We go by Press Association sources, such as the BBC.
