Mercedes man wins enthralling race in Shanghai

Nico Rosberg converted his maiden pole position into his maiden victory in Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.

The Mercedes man led from start to finish in Shanghai, to beat McLaren duo Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton.

That doesn't tell half the story though, in what was a thrilling race with plenty of wheel-to-wheel action.

Rosberg won the race by 20 seconds, but behind him was a train of 15 cars that finished just 31 seconds apart, and there was plenty of overtaking in the final few laps.

Button looked to have a chance to catch Rosberg at one stage, but a slow pit-stop cost him, and dropped him right in the thick of the action.

He came out in fifth, but managed to work his way up to second, while a late moves by Hamilton and Mark Webber on Sebastian Vettel saw them move up in the closing stages.

The Red Bull duo finished in fourth and fifth, ahead of Roman Grosjean, Bruno Senna and Pastor Maldonado.

Fernando Alonso and Kamui Kobayashi, who earned two extra Fantasy League points for setting the fast lap of the race, rounded out the top-10.

Rosberg's team-mate Michael Schumacher was the only driver who failed to finish the race, he retired early on after leaving the pits without one of his wheel nut's.
